cc-tapis joined the opening event of Il Pianeta by Terraforma at Spazio Maiocchi for the Italian debut of the British band Still House Plants.
Weallcomefromvenus by Patricia Urquiola and Bethan Laura Wood’s Super Rock took part in the series of visual, installative and performative interventions exploring the physical, digital and social space of the city of Milan.
The hypnotic texture of both rugs underlay the British band’s performance resulting in an intriguing and electric atmosphere which absorbed all the participants in an extrasensory time and space.
A magnetic context which included a massive billboard by Formafantasma.
Inspired by Ettore Sottsass’ series “Il Pianeta come Festival”, Il Pianeta is an itinerant and mutable project by Terraforma, curated by Threes and MMT Creative Lab which re-interpreted the Italian architect and designer’s project through the work of four artists.
The Design Studio Formafantasma, the video-artist Rebecca Salvadori, the visual artist Giulio Scalisi and the producer and composer Grand River expressed their personal vision with different approaches questioning the relationship between music, art and the urban dimension.
As a creative incubator, the launching event also featured a conversation and screening by the architect collective Possibility of an Island and the final performance by Still House Plants in which/where cc-tapis staged specifically for this special occasion.
Born in 2014, Terraforma is an international music festival which merges sustainability and experimental sounds to discover new resources and minimize the environmental impact. A three days event which takes place in the garden of Villa Arconati, near Milan, preserving the ethereal scenario, year after year.
Special thanks to Terraforma for the images.
