During MFW 2022 cc-tapis hosted HABITO, the new Weekend Max Mara Signature Collection by Patricia Urquiola.
On the occasion of Milan Fashion Week 2022 Patricia Urquiola unveiled Habito, her Fall Winter 2022/23 Signature Collection for Italian fashion brand Weekend Max Mara. The collection was presented in the cc-tapis showroom amongst an installation of the iconic rugs she has designed for cc-tapis.
The exhibition space participates in the collection’s narrative, illustrating Patricia Urquiola’s distinctive creativity which crosses boundaries, merges materials and brings design and fashion together.
The set-up transformed the cc-tapis showroom into a hybrid space evoking the provocative pieces of the Habito collection together with her bold designs for Moroso, Glas Italia and cc-tapis.
HABITO Signature Collection
Habito is a collection of shirts, coats, quilted jackets, blouses and sweaters characterized by eye-catching colors, gradient effects and textures highlighting the structure of oversized silhouettes.
“Habito” refers to the Spanish roots of Patricia Urquiola, which means both “habit” and “to inhabit”. As a multidisciplinary architect and designer, Patricia Urquiola’s everyday research focuses on how we can inhabit a space or living experience in different dimensions… including garments.
Co-creating a capsule collection with Weekend Max Mara, Patricia Urquiola explored new points of view in her creative process, merging different languages and visions with the result of “hybrid pieces that welcome you home – an emotional habitat”. Each garment is a personal reinterpretation of existing Weekend Max Mara silhouettes, primarily in cocoon-shapes that bond traditional wools and ribbed knits with technical nylon, creating matte, shiny and reflective effects.
The accessories complete the Habito Signature Collection by reinterpreting the iconic Weekend Max Mara’s Pasticcino Bag with two fabrics that create an even bolder statement.
